Play the greatest TV show that never was!

Primetime Adventures is a roleplaying game by Matt Wilson released by his own publishing venture Dog-Eared Designs. It provides you everything you need to create your own TV show and play it, season by season. The story focuses on the player character's exclusively as the main protagonists, and is a wonderful introduction to the "Story Now" type games.

It is a game I highly recommend, but in my experience it works best with a group that already fully trust each other. This doesn't mean that you can't play it with random people at a convention, or your old fussy group, but it will then demand a little more of the GM as a moderator. It is important that everyone playing buys into the TV show created, and actually would want to watch it.

In my opinion, there are few games that are as good an introduction to narrative roleplaying and managing to do it without you noticing. Matt uses a language that is familiar TV Guide type speak, instead of the usual theory terms common to The Forge. This makes it very easy to understand Primetime Adventures.

Personally, I own only the first edition of the game, but have seen the second edition and it is an improvement. If you don't already own Primetime Adventures, then do yourself a favor and buy it.
